Do I need an appointment or do you accept walk-ins?
We welcome both scheduled appointments and urgent care visits depending on your needs. Routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and preventative services work best with scheduled appointments by phone or through our online request system. If your cat or dog requires urgent care during our open hours, we ask that you call to check our availability and available services. Our veterinary care team will triage your companion and provide care based on the severity of their condition.
What should new clients bring on their first visit?
New clients should complete our New Patient Form, available on our website or at check-in. Bring any previous medical records, current medications, and a list of questions or concerns you have about your pet’s health. Our team will conduct a comprehensive examination and discuss a personalized care plan for your companion. This initial visit at our veterinary hospital helps us establish baseline health information and build a relationship with both you and your cat or dog.
What makes your practice different from corporate veterinary chains?
Modern Vet Care is a privately-owned, independent animal hospital founded by Dr. Emily Ehmann. We are not part of a corporate chain, which means we make all medical decisions based solely on what’s best for your pet, not what benefits shareholders. Our approach prioritizes building long-term relationships with families and their cats and dogs, and gaining their complete trust. We invest in technology and training that genuinely improves patient outcomes, and our passionate team takes the time to thoroughly address your concerns at every visit.
What diagnostic services are available at your facility?
Our veterinary facility features full diagnostic laboratory services that deliver results in minutes, including blood work, urine testing, heartworm tests, and infectious disease panels. We also provide digital x-ray technology for non-invasive organ imaging and diagnostic ultrasonic imaging capabilities. STAT bedside ultrasound scans are available immediately for urgent cases, while more comprehensive imaging with boarded specialists can be arranged. This state-of-the-art technology allows us to quickly and accurately diagnose conditions in cats and dogs.
What types of payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major forms of payment. We also offer financing options like CareCredit, so your pets can get the necessary care they deserve.
